Writing every day is very hard with a full-time job. Toni Morrison told The Paris Review she'd wake up very early before her kids rose to get those precious quiet hours in (but that in itself sounds like a challenge, unless one's a morning person).

You mentioned not planning too far ahead. That's a great way to balance forward planning with forward momentum (or guardrails and freedom).

Thanks for sharing about our software (Plottr) as well! (I'm the marketing guy.)

Absolutely! I consider myself a morning person in that I'm most productive then, but the thought of waking up a couple hours earlier...hard pass. I'm not sure if it was Writer's Digest or NaNoWriMo that pointed me in the direction of Plottr, but it has been super helpful for someone that had to teach themselves about structure and story beats. It's like having a creative writing tutor!

Self-teaching oneself things is the best feeling. I'm so glad to hear that, I'll share your feedback with our team. Have a great weekend!
